Bordes y heridas del duende

2023-2025 / A flamenco dance, electronic music, and live video performance

This project continues the exploration of audiovisual art as another form of flamenco art. It establishes a strong dialogue between image and body, video and dance, through their interaction. The live visuals are created using analogue video synthesizers and digital visual software. The performance features flamenco dancers based in Barcelona who approach flamenco in an uninhibited, dissident way, as an act of resistance.

The piece brings together on stage four dancers (Carmen Muñoz, Elisabet Romagosa, Karen Mora, and Pol Jiménez), a performer and camera operator (Aina Serena), and two screens. The music (by Derek Van den Bulcke) and the visuals (by Jordi Latorre) are performed live. The choreography is by Marc Oliveras, with artistic guidance by Juan Carlos Lérida.
